Wow! I don't even know where to begin... I am using this processor with my new Cecilio electric violin. I learned and trained on classical violin, acoustic, reading sheet music, etc, so I'm pretty new at now playing an electric one hooked up to an amplifier, and even newer at using a pedal/processor. Upon first assembly, I found that many of these effects will probably not be used in the music that I play (worship & praise - old school & contemporary), but others will be very useful to bring a new sound to old songs. Also, some of the effects sound very similar to one another. I haven't yet figured out and tried to edit and save any effects to my liking, so I can't really say how well the MG-100 does in that area. But I must say that I am absolutely in love with the drum machine and now even more in love with the looper. I literally just played all the parts of Pachelbel's Canon in D all by myself via use of the looper for each phrase! Smiling from ear-to-ear, I just had to stop and rave about it. As a beginner, I totally recommend it to others looking for a cool starter machine to play around with.I couldn't quite give it 5 stars for a few reasons:1.Although I can layer as many parts as I want on top of one another, I cannot save the track (however, my husband who is a tech geek, tells me that there's a way to connect to my computer and record my layered tracks that way). Also, I wish there was a way to undo the last layer of overdub if I've messed up... sucks to have 10 layers of perfection, then one layer be off and I can't fix it.2.Using the pedal as a volume adjuster will take some getting used to - either I end up making it go too loud at the wrong times or I cannot hear myself at all.3.The loop/overdub button is so close to the pedal, that I end up hitting the pedal when I try to overdub and end up turning my sound down and that phrase is not recorded (But I do love how compact and portable it is, so I'll just have to adjust)A very good option in the budget pedal market. Comes with a great number of effects to combine for solid sounds. Virtually all the factory pre-sets are worthless and are sort of demonstrations of what the pedal can do. But you have plenty of user saves and setting up good tones is straight forward and simple. The tuner in this and my handheld one never agree. Someone is lying! The amp and cab models are distinct and offer more interesting tone control to play with than the whazoo effects. Very good shaping control for wave effects like roto-cab. Reverb seems a bit heavy handed so I run it dialed way back. Same for distortion effects, a little goes a long way with this box.Drum looper offers a good number of patterns and super easy control including a tap tempo button. Very simple to record a guitar loop over the drum track- it's great for setting up your own progression to work on soloing over. I love the simplicity of the drums/loop here. Also a simple metronome included. For the hobbyist guitarist this is a great 'bang for the buck' investment. It has practice tools for the beginner but solid tones for the advanced guitarist. For home use, maybe even a garage band it's perfectly adequate. If I were a more serious musician doing gigs with high end audio going to the audience, I'd be investing more than a hundred bucks in my stage rig. This thing is a great little modeling processor. The Drum Machine and 6 band Graphic EQ were pleasant surprise and work fairly well. For the price you can't go wrong.Amazing clean amp tone. Small lightweight and easy to use. Like most multi-effects units, the presets are "too much". They are designed to showcase the capability but for use in a cover band where you are trying to emulate the guitar sounds on classic rock recordings- you have to to make your own more conservative presets. I'm still working on it.I like the difference in character of some of the amp distortions, then you get the tome knobs of the amp, different speaker emulations with tone controls and the graphic eq. So there is a lot you can do to get the right tone. My complaint on that is that the "mixer" mode cuts the highs (since there is no amp to do so) cuts thee highs too much. If you go flat with the graphic EQ the amp emulations are always a little too dark. The flanger is great and plenty of intensity if you want it. It will work good for the bridge in "Are You Gonna Go My Way". Other effects work well too with plenty of range in intensity.Bought this to replace my Digitech RP 255 which I had better presets and found a little easier to setup- but I have every confidence this unit will give me sounds I like just as well- I already like the clean sound better, plus it is a much smaller and lighter unit which was one of my main goals. My pedal board has a GR33 guitar synth, a boost and a headphone amp. Those units and power supplies were getting too heavy.UPDATE-I've had it for a few months and have been using it at shows. It has become erratic. The patch I use most often occasionally oscillates. It's like microphonic feedback (not guitar sustaining feedback). The output level seems to change on it's own as well. I will say I found an amazing sound with the marshall 800 emulation but the inconsistency makes it unusable live. It is possible it's not the unit but a power supply problem or connection, but I have not seem the power go off and other devices on the same power supply work fine. I have ordered the digitech 360xp since I had used that brand for 15 years or more with no issue.Love this little magic box!Only thing is that they are not very durable at all ! Am on my thirdNow I think I'm David GilmoreAs described. Nice piece of kitDie kleine chinesische Bodenmiene ist für diesen Preis wirklich gut. Habe das Teil seit heute und ich war skeptisch ob das was taugt. Tja - kaum was zu vermissen. Muss also ein 9 V Netzteil her. Spreicherplatz, wenn man in ausgeschaltet hatte.- schaltet immer wieder auf Mixer (direct) wenn man neu startetIt us amazing how you can fit all the sou ads you want j to a little piece of equipment.Rock on
