Built a smaller pedal and had limited space for delay and reverb. But this pedal has them both in a standard pedal size. And it works great. Sampler is one of my favorites. Great pedal.Great pedal. Smooth, organic, easy to use. I have the Strymon Timeline, BigSky and have used the El Capistan on several occasions. Here is what I dislike about strymon products. NO USB for a software editor! You actually need one! How could Strymon overlook something so obvious. Well that's engineers for you, they don't think like musicians and musicians do not think like engineers in large. I just happen to be a studio guy and product specialist so I can move around on the Strymon products with ease but for the average musician I really believe Strymon is a poor choice until they address the USB issue, if they ever do! After trying all the so called tape echo emulators the Wampler wins hands down. The T-Rex that uses actual tape is a complete joke and a albatross. Save yourself time and money purchase the Wampler.Buen sonido. This is a great pedal, and although it is digital, it is more comparable to analog delay, as the delays are gritty, and tend to get the highs rolled off at the repeats, especially at long delays. The delays won't overpower your original sound, so you can have more delay volume without getting that washy digital delay sound, Tap tempo is a bonus. Tape simulation (basically a detune w/ lfo) works very well. Built like a tank, just like all the other Wampler pedals.Shade control can be used to make the delay more predominant as it is a treble boost, but the delays are very noisy when the shade knob is turned up past, particularly at longer delay sounds. It adds a constant hiss under your guitar sound. This knob adds highs to the delay, so it makes sense that it would add noise, but it is really unusable at anything over 12:00 for medium delays, and must be turned down for long delays I actually prefer it all the way down, because I like a dark delay. But the point is, even though you can get a nice, gritty delay with good highs in it, you will end up with an underlying hiss under your guitar sound. So if you are looking for a crisp delay, look elsewhere, but if you want a thick, dark gritty delay, this is the one for you.Wampler gets a lot of love out there, but I am not very impressed. Cool idea for a pedal, and makes some great effects. I planned on using it was an always on slap/reverb into an AC15 that has mediocre built in reverb. But, it also adds too much hiss. Anything above 9 oclock and the hiss takes over. It might just be a bad pedal, but its the second Wampler to add white noise, so I guess I am trying another brand. Pedal goes back.Ps I did an A/B comparison of all my pedals and the Ethereal was sdcond noisest in terms of hiss. Only a fuzz(Havalina) gave more white noise, and my ither fuzz(Octafuzz) had considerably less white noise. Ordered an HOF to replace the Ethereal.I'm not a real big fan of pedals to begin but the my JVM410HJS doesn't have reverb and occasionally having the option to add in a little delay would be nice. A friend told me that this pedal would suffice as both a delay pedal and a reverb pedal. If this is what you are looking for, this is isn't it. It is a pretty cool pedal though and it beats having a dry sound all the time. Overall, the build quality is quite good and the variations are almost limitless. If you're a guy with a Fender Princeton and a large pedal board, you'll probably like this pedal a LOT. I'll keeps this Ethereal but will also keep looking for a combination reverb/delay pedal that has a more traditional sound.Great reverb pedal. Great sounds. Pre-delay is the game changer for me. Shipped fast and great price. ThanksThis was a great option for me as I needed a combo delay/reverb pedal due to a lack of space on my small pedal board I removed a carbon copy and swapped this in. I recently purchased an amp with no on board reverb so this pedal manages to do a good job of cover both reverb and delay. I do believe that if I had more space available it may be a better option to have individual pedals for reverb and delay but this work well for me. No battery option so keep that in mind - fine for me as I have a power supply dedicated to my pedal board.
